Shania Montúfar is a fourth-year Ph.D. student in sociology at the University of Texas at Austin and a Graduate Student Trainee at the Population Research Center. Her research bridges demography, immigration, health, and gender, with projects on immigrant well-being, Latinx mental health, and spatial health disparities. Alongside her scholarship, she is also a studio artist and curator whose creative practice explores migration, belonging, and identity. 

She is a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Health Policy Research Scholar and Point Foundation Scholar, with her work supported by both academic fellowships and arts grants.
